Born in November 1965 of the enthusiasm of a group of friends and Renzo Zambelli's determination, the Cortina Choir takes its first steps under the conductorship of Vero Soncini. However, the turning point in the life of the Choir dates from the year 1967, when Giancarlo Bregani - well - known musicologist and critic - is entrusted with the artistic direction. His arrival inaugurates a period of success and popularity culminated in the twentieth anniversary celebrations. Since 1987 it has been conducted by Benedetto Fiori, holder of a diploma in organ and composition from the "Benedetto Marcello" conservatory in Venice. Under his conductorship the Choir has engaged in a fareaching choral research projet, successfully participated in national andinternatinal contests, performed in hundreds of concerts in the most prestigious halls in Europe - like Salzburg's Mozarteum, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, Eisenstadt's Ha7ydnsaal in the esterhazy Palace - taken part in radio and TV shows, recorded seven LPs, two CD and one VIDEO |
